Note: Feel free to submit color ads or photos, but be advised that playbill ads are printed in black and white.
Playbill Ad Template – Use this ad template as a guide for creating your digital ad so that it fits within the borders of the ad size you’ve selected. (Note: For eighth and quarter page ads, please limit messages to 40 words or less.)
Tips for Photo Cropping – Your ad can include both a great photo and a lovely message. Here are some examples of ways to crop your photo by positioning the subject on the side so as to include copy space for your message. However, sometimes the best option is to position the subject in the center with copy space at the bottom. Either way works!
Important information:
-
File naming: Please use this format to name your ad file: dancername_size.pdf or dancername_size.jpg. Include the name of the dancer or business AND the size of the ad. Example: A half page ad for Mary Sunshine, should be saved as marysunshine_half.pdf (not “nutcracker ad 25”).
-
Save your fully designed, PRINT READY file as a .jpg, .jpeg, or .pdf file with a resolution of 300 ppi or greater. PDF is preferred and works best.
-
A $25 Patron Ad is text only – no images or graphics – and is limited to 60 characters including spaces and punctuation. If your ad exceeds 60 characters, consider submitting it as an eighth page ad at the $75 rate. All patron ads will be typeset by the editor for conformity.
-
Exact reproduction of Word or Pages files cannot be guaranteed. If you use one of these programs to design your ad, you will need to save it as a pdf before uploading. We cannot accept PowerPoint, Publisher or Excel files.
Questions about advertising in the Playbill can be directed to the editor at rydeplaybill@gmail.com.
